A Week up North... My Week in Recap: Part 2

**Warning** This is another long post.

Thursday I slept in and hung out at the hotel. Jason got out of class a little early so we headed up to McKinney to go to the Cheaper Than Dirt gun store. When we finished there we headed to my BIL and SIL house for dinner. They moved up to the Dallas area this summer so it was nice to get to spend some time with them and the boys.

Friday we got up and checked out of the hotel and went to the Ft. Worth Stockyards. I have never been before and was excited to check it out. We got there just as all the stores were opening so it wasn't packed. The more we walked the stockyards to more packed with people it became. There were a couple of schools there on field trips and kids running all over. We went into a store called Maverick Western Wear, where I spotted some boots I fell in love with. Then my husband shocked me and bought me a pair! They are my Christmas present, but I love them and am so grateful to have such a giving and loving husband.

After an hour or so of browsing a few more stores we found a bar that my BIL and SIL recommended. We stopped in at Booger Reds Saloon. What a name right!?! But the margarita's were good! The bar area was nice and had a great feel to it. Some of the bar stools were saddles. At first I was wondering who in the world would sit on those saddle bar stools, then I had 3 of their signature margarita's and completely understood the reasoning for having saddle bar stools. :)  When we finished our drinks and lunch we decided to start heading home.

Best margarita I have ever had!
Of course no trip on I35 is complete without stopping in West, Texas for some kolaches. I have had the Czech Stop ones before and wanted to try something else, so I went to the trusty google for recommendations. We ended up going into West (off I35) to Village Bakery. We bought a few things from them, but their selection wasn't anything like Czech Stop, but I liked their bread a little better. So we headed back up to I35 to Czech Stop to get some kolaches for breakfast Saturday morning.  While we were there a customer recommended the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Kolache and now I wish she hadn't! It was so good and now I crave them! So if your ever in that area I highly recommend stopping in for a dozen or two!

My A&M cookie I bought in hopes of a big win against Alabama!
And by the grace of Manziel we pulled off a heck of a win! Whoop!
When we made it home Friday evening we planned it so that the kids would attend Friday Night Out at church and Jason and I would take his parents out to eat. We went out and then they stayed the night again and went and watched Oscar's football game and then watched Addy cheer. The kids were excited for them to get to see them.

Our week was great and our weekend was spend recovering. Thank you Don and Sherry for staying with the kids and being such wonderful grandparents. We love you guys! And thank you Christi for letting me hang out with you while I was up there with Jason. We miss you guys!
